A heated base layer is attractive when you already own the right coat. ORORO's two-zone top places heat across the upper and lower back, allowing the outer layer to be chosen for rain, wind or activity. The useful benefit is flexibility across outfits rather than the convenience of a single heated jacket.

The manufacturer rates the top at roughly 5.5, 10.5 and 17.5 hours across high, medium and low settings. Those figures need to stay attached to their settings. They do not establish that the lowest level will provide enough warmth in a particular environment, or that the wearer will want powered heat during active movement.

Pay close attention to fit and battery location because this layer sits close to the body and underneath other garments.
